What do you want people to know about you?
My name is Steve Planisky and I am the new Business Advisor for Rising Tide Community Loan Fund. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and 4 years of lending and underwriting experience in the personal consumer loan field. I am excited to take on the opportunity to work in an organization dedicated to bettering local communities.
What is your background in business development?
I have some experience working with local small businesses on the personal consumer side, reaching out to small businesses in the area and helping them provide financing options for their customers. This helped the businesses gain increased revenue and the customers purchasing the goods or services they needed.
What does supporting small businesses mean to you?
To me, the support of small businesses leads to the strengthening of the communities they serve. Small businesses can provide jobs, services that help support the community, and goods that are needed in the community itself. This leads to stronger communities that can sustain themselves and the people there.
What is your best advice for someone who wants to start a business?
Be passionate about what you want to do, but also have a plan. If you are passionate about what you want to do it will be easy to continue to do it. It is also important to have a solid plan to guide you along the way to reach your goals as a business.
