Meet Our Newest Team Member – Kelsey!
- What do you want people to know about you?
My name is Kelsey Miller and I am the new Administrative and Marketing Associate for Rising Tide. For me, marketing is all about telling a story – and Rising Tide has a great story to tell! I am thrilled to be a part of this organization and to play a part in strengthening small businesses and our local community.
- What is your background in business development?
I have worked in the marketing communications space for more than 15 years, in industries as varied as software development and afterschool education. I am fascinated by the way the artistry of communication intersects with the science of analytics, to result in an overall effective marketing strategy.
- What does supporting small businesses mean to you?
Small businesses aren’t just a storefront or a logo (or even a Facebook page). Small businesses are your families, your friends, your neighbors. Investing in small businesses is one of the most impactful ways to grow a self-sustaining community. And it feels great to know exactly where you’re spending your money!
- What is your best advice for someone who wants to start a business?
Persistence is key. Starting and growing a business can be unpredictable. If things don’t work out exactly as planned, be flexible and adapt. And don’t be afraid to reach out for help. You’re the expert at what you do – don’t try to do it all!
